2010 Captain & Guest Tournament

at Stourbridge Golf Club, Monday 23rd August, 2010

A poor weather forecast did not dampen the spirits of 27 Club captains and their guests. Although a heavy shower did appear early on, when it cleared the day steadily improved leading to a sunny evening. A firm breeze made the golf testing.

Very steady scoring by the winners above gave them 44 points with near equal contribution by each player. They were followed by Rose Hill on 43 who beat the home team from Stourbridge on countback.

Stourbridge provided an excellent meal and the evening concluded with a pictorial slide show when Union Chairman, Bill Thompson, gave a quick synopsis of the County activity with the elite players at all ages and an overview of the projects in which the County Union is engaged, supporting all our clubs.

President Elect, Brian Morris thanked Stourbridge for their excellent hospitality and all the Club Captains for participating

He felt it had been a relaxed and enjoyable day for Captains to meet, and an opportunity to hear at first hand the achievements of the County Teams and the projects being undertaken by the Union.

Stourbridge Captain, Jim Evans welcomed all the visitors and hoped they had enjoyed their day at the club.
