2010 Matchplay Championship at Moseley
Saturday & Sunday 14th/15th August

A breezy and showery Saturday 14th produced four semi-finalists who played on Sunday morning.. Paul Garey putted well to gain a 6 & 5 win over Simon Green from The Vale. Richard Sadler was pulled back to all square after fifteen holes, but went on to win the next three holes for victory over Paul Reeves from Redditch.
With Tony Edwards refereeing, the final was played in perfect warm and sunny conditions. The course was beautifully presented with true fast greens admired by all the competitors.
The front nine saw Richard two under par and 1 Up against Paul who was one under. A birdie on the 12th saw it back to all square. However birdies by Richard on the 15th and 17th saw him shaking hands as the 3 & 1 winner having played to three under par at the finish.
This was a high standard of golf, taking Richard to his fourth Matchplay victory overall and his third consecutive win.
