Seniors Betterball Strokeplay at Wharton Park, 24th September

 

  

President Peter Adans with Best Nett winners M O'Donnell Redditch & K Price Droitwich (70 - 10 = 60).

Second and Third places were taken by home club members on Nett 64 and Nett 65.

Best Gross was Vic Pailing and David Glover with 69.

Second was Charles Smith and Noel Green on 72 and third was Ken Murton and Brian Warrington on 74 (back 6 countback).

All players commented on the excellent course and how Wharton Park is now a very attractive venue in the county. County President, Peter Adams, invites all Worcestershire players over 55 on Thursday 24th September, to enter the inaugural playing of the

Seniors Four Ball Betterball Medal

to be played at Wharton Park Golf Club

on Thursday 24th September 2009

Three Nett Prizes and Three Gross Prizes

1.                  The Competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and with the local rules of Wharton Park Golf Club, as approved by the Committee.

2.                  Only Amateur male members of Golf Clubs affiliated to the Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs with an Active CONGU handicap may enter. There is no Maximum handicap, all players welcome

3.                  The format of the Competition is 18 holes Four-ball Strokeplay Medal, played off ¾ Handicap. (A side consists of two players, the side's score for a hole is the better nett score of the two, Rule 31)

4.                  Entries Close on 12th September. The Draw will be posted to each entrant and updated on the County website.

5.                  Any changes must be communicated to the County Secretary by 8 pm Wednesday 23rd September.

6.                  In the event of a tie, the winners shall be decided by comparing the nett scores for the back 9, 6, 3, and 1 holes, in that order.

7.                  The decisions of the Committee or its delegated officers shall, in all matters, be final.

8.                  Smart casual dress is acceptable in the Clubhouse throughout the day. Jacket and tie required at the Presentation of Prizes. Mobile phones may only be used in the Car Park. Players are encouraged to take mobile phones on the course, but only for use in a medical emergency.

9.                  Buggies are permitted and may be hired at a special rate if available

Entrance Fee £25.00 per pair
