The  Worcestershire Senior Foursomes Championship

For the John Wharrad Claret Jugs and The Aberdovey Salvers

To be played at Worcester Golf and Country Club

On Monday 28^th June 2010

Conditions:

1.                  The competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and the Local Rules of Worcester Golf and Country Club, as approved by the Championship Committee.

2.                  Only Amateur male members of Golf Clubs affiliated to the Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs, with valid CONGU handicaps, and aged 55 or over on the day of the competition, may enter. Both players must have a Worcestershire club as their ‘Home’ club for handicap purposes. Pairings do not have to come from the same club. The maximum aggregate handicap for a pair to enter is 30, but in the event of oversubscription, players will be balloted out on the basis of half the aggregate handicaps of the two players.

3.                  Format of the competition is 18 holes Medal Foursomes. Draw will be posted on the website.

4.                  The John Wharrad Claret Jugs will be won by the pair with the best Gross score. In the event of a tie there will be a ‘sudden death’ playoff over selected holes.

5.                  The Aberdovey Salvers will be won by the pair with the best Nett score. Nett scores will be calculated as the Gross score less half the aggregate of the two player’s playing handicaps, half strokes allowed. In the event of a tie, the winners shall be decided by comparing the pairs’ scores for the last 9, 6, 3, 2, and 1 holes, in that order.

6.                  There will be other Gross and Nett voucher prizes. Trophies will be held for one year. Winners may only win one prize.

8.                  The decisions of the Championship Committee or its delegated officers shall, in all matters, be final.

8.                  At the end of the day’s play, jacket and ties will be worn by all competitors in the  clubhouse and at the Prize Presentation.

Entrance Fee per Pair - £20 by cheque
